Windows Live Mail is a part of the Windows Essentials application package, which also includes Messenger, Photo Gallery, Writer, Movie Maker, Family Safety, and the Bing search panel.
Windows Live Mail is a full-featured local e-mail client. It has a number of pre-defined settings for all popular mail services including Windows Live, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, and others.
Windows Live Mail can remind users about events, synchronize with a web calendar, and create shared calendars.
The program is not available as a standalone application. You can receive the latest version of Windows Live Mail via Windows Update. You can also download Windows Essentials and install the mail client from there.
